Charlie O’Brien is an Irish filmmaker and artist working between Ireland and Argentina. His films span documentary and short fiction, with a sustained focus on the Irish experience in Latin America. A Captain Unafraid (2017) premiered at the European Film Festival in Havana; The Trackless Wild (2025) toured Argentina with Culture Ireland and Irish Arts Council support. Other works include Saol John Riley (TG4, 2010), The Green Fields of Cuba (2019) and Macalla Chill Áirne (2021). He works independently under Trouble or Fortune Films/Records, directing, editing and producing his own projects.
