Ciara O’Connor is a Kerry-based visual artist specializing in free-motion embroidery to explore identity, feminism, and the architecture of recovery. By recontextualizing domestic craft, she utilizes the rhythmic nature of stitch to process trauma and memory. Her multidisciplinary practice integrates sculpture, installation, and video, bridging textile heritage with narrative-led conceptualism.
O’Connor has exhibited both nationally and internationally, including at the Crawford Art Gallery, the Royal Ulster Academy, the Royal Hibernian Academy, and the Royal Scottish Academy. A dedicated educator, she facilitates nationwide workshops at prestigious institutions including IMMA, The Butler Gallery, Flux Studios, and Artform School of Art.
