Julianne Guinee is an Irish painter whose figurative work confronts the cultural scripts still shaping women’s lives. Rooted in classical oil techniques yet edged with contemporary critique, her paintings of women and children in domestic spaces evoke both unease and beauty, drawing viewers into reflections on motherhood, memory, loss, and resilience.

Based in Buttevant, County Cork, Guinee has painted full-time since 2019, following a career in primary education. Her work has been exhibited widely across Ireland, including at the Royal Hibernian Academy Annual Exhibitions. In 2025, she was awarded the Accenture Women on Walls commission to paint eight pioneering women for permanent display at University College Cork and appeared on Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year.
